It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Hey everyone,

I'm just informing you that the submissions will be -as of now- (1) per week. I hope this is not much of a inconvenience to anyone, but I had a blog entry open for your opinion for four days and I received only three or four ideas. I've decided, thanks to certain personal preferences, that the current submission amount was either too much or not enough.

As some of you may or may not know, we are currently in need of points in order to achieve a super group status. A contest (little) will be held in the upcoming weeks in order to advertise our need for points. Have any ideas? Please contact me, ~amour-raven or the club with any information.

The current moderators/admins of the club, our "Board of Trustees" will be granted higher power within the club VERY shortly. If you are interested in an admin position note me, ~amour-raven or the club and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

** If your curious, out of ~600 members we only received 186 views on the past journal.

Damn... and here I was hoping you were just going to change it from 3 per month to 3 per week. (Note to self: No more subtlety. People need stuff spelled out for them in BIG, BOLD LETTERS to get it.)

At least at this rate I won't get quite as far ahead of what's been posted here as I would have with only 3 per month.... Wait. Scratch that. I probably will. One per week equals out to 4 per month, which is only one better than before.

Oh, and about the lack of views on the previous journal: I'm guessing either people don't have their alerts set up to get them for journal entries for the group, or maybe you lost quite a number of people when the group was kinda dead for a while.

Ugh. I'm both indecisive as well as ignorant! Apparently I allow the obvious to simply fly over my head. I'm sorry; I don't know where I was when I was reading your comment! Now that you say something I look at the minute number and I think, "Damn, that isn't enough per week! I'm going to lose some members!"

Now, if I am truly a good founder, I will make a change to this. I'm positive that MANY members will admire the change as well even if they didn't voice their opinion in the previous journal. 3 submissions per week shall suffice.

As far as the inactivity goes...I can't change what has already happened, but I'm going to try like hell to think things through BEFORE I open my big mouth as well as comprehend what someone is saying plus try to get new members, more views, and have people truly ENJOY this club.

Thank you for spelling it out in BIG BOLD LETTERS for me. Quite frankly, I need it.
