You come home from school one day. You've had yet another horrible day. You're just ready to give up. So you go to your room, close the door, and take out that suicide note you've written and rewritten over and over and over You take out those razor blades, and cut for the very last time. You grab that bottle of pills and take them all. Laying down, holding the letter to your chest, you close your eyes for the very last time.
A few hours later, your little brother knocks on your door to come tell you dinners ready. You don't answer, so he walks in. All he sees is you laying on your bed, so he thinks you're asleep. He tells your mom this. Your mom goes to your room to wake you up. She notices something is odd. She grabs the paper in your hand and reads it. Sobbing, she tries to wake you up. She's screaming your name. Your brother, so confused, runs to go tell Dad that "Mommy is crying and sissy won't wake up."

A Skitty News Feature! :3Recently, I entered a contest hosted by ~SourAir . The contest was "Glass", literature only. And since literature is just about the only thing I can do, I figured I might as well. But as I was going through the entries, I fell in love with some of the pieces and offered a journal feature as a prize. I was ecstatic when I found that my favorites won and I figured you guys might appreciate hearing about them!

The first place winner was ~LenaDieKunstlerin with the entry, Worthier Than Diamonds.

I think we all agree that this piece is fantastic. This lovely tale of young love is enthralling and heart breaking and I honestly could not have chosen a better first place winner. Upon going through her gallery, I also came to find she was an AMAZING artist.

Featured: A Piece of Paper by ~SourAirFriends, and watchers of my work - it's not often I get too excited over imagery I see here on DA, whether it be visual or in written form (right, who am I kidding - lol), but this evening I came across such a wonderful piece of writing that really cries out for a feature.
So here is what has captivated me today, which I wish to share with you:

DA Has Actually Done Something RightSo in the mix of stupid quotes, secrets, and now point giveaways I've been seeing more and more of, DA has an option that I actually believe is the greatest thing they've done yet
They have a discovery option, where every time you refresh the page, new deviants are displayed so now everyone has an equal chance of being seen and having their hard work discovered. That's very nice and fair.

It's in it's beta form, I think, I'm not sure. So, I don't know if it's available to everyone yet

Quick update since last nightHi Everyone, good morning!
I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for your support and prayers for the people who need them the most. For those who gave them, it means a lot... and even though sometimes prayer doesn't seem to work... it does work... in mysterious ways. But no matter what, prayer works.
Also thank you so much for supporting Lovinity through her tough time yesterday. I just wanted to say she is awake right now and feeling MUCH BETTER; she's her usual self today. She still does feel a little of what she felt yesterday but not nearly as strong. Also, I thought she would be very fatigued today after sending out all of that Love energy, but actually she seems pretty awake to me ^^
We're both going to head off to college now and once again THANK YOU. I am very appreciative of the friends I have, and so is Lovinity. And to those feeling hopeless: You just need a friend. We're here to be that friend for you. We have enough infinite love to go around... and always will <33

Hi! I'm very excited about this, but I have a question about my entry. It's a poem set in Tolkien's universe, but in the hobbit or the Lord of the Rings proper. My piece pertains to the Silmarillion, the history Tolkien wrote about the early Ages of Middle-Earth. Can I still submit it for the contest? I think it counts as 'a poetic chant of the Elves and their prophecies.'

Hi, I'm a bit confused about this part of the rules: "Please include in your Artist's Comments how your entry relates to our theme." What exactly is the theme other than to write something that is set in the Lord of the rings world? I mean, should it specifically have something to do with Middle Earth as a continent or am I just overthinking here?
